Submitting to the Semantic Information Modeling for Federation (SIMF) RFP

As you may know, the Object Management Group (OMG.ORG) has issued an RFP for "Semantic Information Modeling for Federation (SIMF)". Vendors and practitioners who are interested in the application of semantic technologies to information federation should consider participating in a response. To be an "official" submitter requires that a letter of intent be sent to OMG. These letters of intent are due March 15th. The LOI does not commit the organization to submitting to or implementing SIMF, but it is required for submitter status.

The intent of this RFP is to build on current semantic standards to provide mainstream tools and technologies in support of a semantic approach to information federation and integration. SIMF will include a normative modeling language with both graphical and textual notations for conceptual domain modeling (ontologies) and logical information modeling augmented with "model bridging relations".

If you have any questions about SIMF or how to participate please feel free to contact me. Submission teams have already started forming to respond. Submission teams will include both official submitters and contributors.
