ESTC2009: Program highlights announced!

CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS

- Opening session with an invited speech by Susie Stephens, Director of Informatics at pharma multinational Johnson & Johnson, who will talk about the exploitation of semantic technologies in the life sciences sector.

- Within the scope of the Innovation Seed Camp, innovative ideas will be presented to a panel of experts and discussed in private mentoring sessions.
The best ideas will be rewarded with prizes of up to 5000 EUR!

- An evening social event accompanied by live music in the prominent Vienna restaurant Palmenhaus will conclude the first conference day.

- Interesting workshops and tutorials will be held by leading experts in knowledge management, market opportunities, semantic application development and the Semantic Web infrastructure.

- A business talk session on the second conference day with a series of talks about the business opportunities offered by semantic technologies plus a panel of experts including Tom Tague from Thomson Reuters and Leigh Dodds from Talis discussing the topic "Linked Data in the Enterprises"

- Celtic, the EUREKA Cluster for research on telecommunication, will bring keynote speeches of leading researchers of the European telecommunication industry who will outline their future challenges and strategic directions. Several Celtic project-leaders will present individual research projects where further participation is still possible.

- All conference participants are encouraged to use the matchmaking tool which will enable an easier way of networking at the conference. The matchmaking sessions in the conference program will provide time and space for participants to hold scheduled B2B meetings with selected partners.

- The open demo space will provide a unique opportunity for all participants to showcase and experience cutting edge technology and products during the two conference days.
