John, while I strongly respect your arguments (especially the syntax things, we have tended to get mired in that way), but I do believe you overlook the value of simply naming things - for FOL this may be trivial, but in the context of the Web it's hugely powerful, the possibility of using a simple protocol to retrieve more information about the topic at hand.
