The URL (http://xmlns.com/foaf/0.1/) that Cristiano points to is just a snapshot of an older version of the FOAF ontology. You may want to use the latest version available from http://xmlns.com/foaf/spec/index.rdf

It's OWL, but not OWL-DL.
I would very much like there to be an OWL-DL version too, or at least  
to factor it into two components - an OWL-DL portion, and a set of  
further axioms that are imported by OWL full users.
