Books for laymen on Basics on semantic web

Dear all,

I need a number of titles for comprehensive books providing a detailed overview of the semantic web, its technologies, and its roadmap. I already have some technical tomes on my list but need some titles for readers from disciplines other than mathematics, computer sciences or ICT in general.

Besides the obvious lists on www.w3c.org are there any other noteworthy, recent good books? I am particularly interested in books with case studies in various academic fields or professional fields like pharmacy, medicine, biology, library sciences, social sciences, agriculture, marine biology just to name a few.
