Ontology query types

Ontology query is important research issue in the semantic web area.
I think ontology query can be separated into two types:
(1)Normal query:
Who is Bill's father? Who does Bill play with? etc.
(2)Semantic Association query[1]:
What's the relationship between Tom and Bill?
The query system should take more efforts to answer the last query type.
I think there must be many other separating ways
