hi all, As part of the Semantic Web Best Practices Working Group at W3C[1], members of the Applications and Demos Taskforce[2] have been experimenting with different ways of collecting information about Semantic Web Applications and Demos. We've settled on creating a simple list in the ESW wiki[3] of DOAP[4] files describing applications and demos, and then examining and adding them to the list we're maintaining[5]. Of course there's no reason why others should not take the list and create their own view on it using RDF tools. If you'd like your application or demo to be considered by the taskforce for inclusion in [5], please - Read the critera to make sure you're app or demo is suitable (see below) - Create a DOAP file (there are several tools for this linked from http://esw.w3.org/topic/SemanticWebDOAPBulletinBoard, e.g. doap-a-matic [6]) - Link it from your app or demo's homepage like this: <head> <link rel="meta" title="DOAP" href="mydoap.rdf" type="application/rdf+xml"/> </head> - Add your DOAP file to http://esw.w3.org/topic/SemanticWebDOAPBulletinBoard for consideration. Criteria for inclusion - Only applications and demos with their own DOAP descriptions will be included. The DOAP description should normally be created by the author of the application or demo. The DOAP descriptions must be specific to a particular application or demo, which must exist and be made available via the doap:homepage location - Only freely downloadable applications and demos will be included unless they are products of a W3C member (free as in beer, although we are also particularly in interested Open Source software which developers can take and use). - For the time being only RDF, RDFS and OWL applications will be included. Looking forward to finding out what's really out there :) Libby [1] http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/BestPractices/ [2] http://esw.w3.org/topic/SemanticWebBestPracticesTaskForceOnApplicationsAndDemos [3] http://esw.w3.org/topic/SemanticWebDOAPBulletinBoard [4] http://usefulinc.com/doap [5] http://esw.w3.org/mt/esw/archives/cat_applications_and_demos.html [6] http://doapy.bonjourlesmouettes.org/doap-a-matic
