Dear Collin,

if you are looking for a taxonomy of topics relevant for the Semantic Web
you might want to check the efforts of the Knowledge Web network of
excellence:

  https://wiki-sop.inria.fr/wiki/bin/view/Acacia/KnowledgeWeb

This topic hierarchy is available in OWL as an extension of the SWRC
ontology (Semantic Web for Research Communities):

  http://ontoware.org/projects/swrc
  (the module is called 'swrc-swtopics')

Greetings,
York
