CVS access issues

I use SmartCVS and am not quite sure where this goes wrong, but I get the following error:

 

commit -l -m "Updated fn:transform tests, primarily changed map syntax to use function-style lookup" fn/transform.xml

cvs [server aborted]: "commit" requires write access to the repository

Command Aborted.

 

I think it is because the key is not accepted. If I use  Putty, and login as myself, it says "Server refused our key".

 

Is it possible to get a new key and try it fresh?
