Re: Resigning from the WGs

Hi Norm,

On behalf of the XML Query WG, I'd like to thank you for all your hard
work and commitment over a sustained period. You have had a very positive
influence on the specifications and the operation of the WG. You will be
missed! I wish you all the best with your current and future activities,
and I hope to see you at future events.

Best wishes,
Andy

Subject: Resigning from the WGs

Andy & Sharon,

With regret, I find that I must tender my resignations from the XSLT
and XML Query Working Groups. If we’re all perfectly candid, I’ve been
at best a somewhat distracted participant for some time now. Changing
priorities with my employer and pervasive feelings of guilt about my
failure to participate as actively as I would have liked have finally
taken their toll.

The struggles, challenges, successes, and even some of the failures
have all been exciting and rewarding. The XSL WG was the first working
group I joined, back in ‘98. I have enjoyed working with you (all of
you!) and I will miss you. I look forward to cheering the announcments
of the next set of Recommendations.

I’ll still be around at the same email addresses and the same
conferences. I still care deeply about our XML technologies, so if
there’s anything I can do personally to help out, please don’t
hesitate to ask.

                                        Be seeing you,
                                          norm
