Here is my draft PER requestion for Namespaces
in XML 1.1 2nd Ed.

This should mostly be a copy (appropriately modified)
of the XML 1.0 4th Ed PER request.

Nevertheless, comments are still solicited from all.

The XML Core WG requests publication of
Namespaces in XML 1.1 (Second Edition)
available at
http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/2006/04/xml-names-2e/xml-names-11-2e.html
@@@
as a Proposed Edited Recommendation (PER).

The URL cited above is for the most recent Member-only
version of the specification as of DD MMM 2006 but @@@
dated DD MMM 2006 in anticipation of publication then. @@@

That file is set up to be published by moving it to
http://www.w3.org/TR/2006/PER-xml-names11-2006mmdd/Overview.html @@@

The Namespaces in XML 1.1 First Edition was published on
4 February 2004 at http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/REC-xml-names11-20040204/
The Errata document for the First Edition is at
http://www.w3.org/XML/2004/xml-names11-errata
This Second Edition incorporates these errata. In addition,
there are several editorial changes, including a number of
terminology changes and additions intended to produce greater
consistency. The non-normative appendix "The Internal Structure
of XML Namespaces" has been removed.

The WG's decision to request publication as a PER was taken
during a WG telcon on 2006 MMM DD whose minutes may be found at @@@
@@@@

SCHEDULE

We propose a publication date of 2006 MMM DD. @@@

We propose that the PER period lasts from the date of publication
until 31 June 2006.

PROPOSED CR TITLE, ABSTRACT AND STATUS SECTIONS

Abstract

by associating them with namespaces identified by IRI references.
