ACTION: November 2009 Face to Face meeting of the XG members and/or Workshop

Hello all,

On June 3 I took an action item to post a message to this list regarding
first thoughts on one or more meetings in November 2009 in Silicon Valley.

Harry captured these questions in the notes of the June 3 meeting:

1. Should we have our face-to-face there?

2. Workshop before or after?

3. If so, at which event?

4. How to encourage overlap?

I've prepared a wiki page [1]

I'd like to begin with a discussion to clearly identify the SW XG members'
primary and secondary motivations/objectives for having a meeting.

I have put three objectives on the wiki page. I encourage/invite all to
contribute to this list of objectives because knowing the objectives of
target audiences/participants in advance is the best way to build a meeting
(or series of meetings) to meet the targets.

I believe that there could be, as eluded to in Harry's question #2 above,
two events: a meeting for the XG members and another meeting with a more
open ended objective, similar to that which was held in January 2009.

We must also consider the costs of any meeting. Do we have corporate
sponsors? Will W3C cover some or all costs?

I do not know if this action (I don't know its number) is now considered
closed or if it remains open until we actually hold the event but I will
leave that point to the chairs.
