Please look at the sentence in [1]:  

    In Linked Data, data is expressed using Resource Description Framework
    (RDF) and Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs). 

I prefer not to write "the" Semantic Web; in the rest of the report, if I'm not
mistaken, we use Semantic Web only as an adjective.
