next steps + no call this week

Following up on our group successfully hitting our requirements due date and our prioritization due date we've now hit our proposal due date of the end of February and indeed we've received a set of proposals. Well done everyone! For next steps:

0. If you plan on submitting a proposal and haven't yet, please submit that as soon as possible (or in the worst case send something to the list this week saying you plan on submitting something and outlining your estimated timeline).

1. Set aside some time to do a detailed review of all the proposals we've received:

a. http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xg-htmlspeech/2011Feb/att-0020/api-draft.html

b. http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xg-htmlspeech/2011Feb/att-0022/htmltts-draft.html

c. http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xg-htmlspeech/2011Feb/att-0023/speechrequest.xml.html

d. http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-archive/2011Mar/att-0001/microsoft-api-draft-final.html

2. If you have questions about the proposals send them to the list. For initial review please try to focus on clarity and understanding questions (I.e., "I didn't understand this part, could you explain more?" or "Did I understand correctly that I'd do XYZ to accomplish ABC?") or evaluations relating to the requirements (I.e., "I think that fpr12 could actually be mostly met by this proposal if you just did foo" or "I'm not sure this proposal really does addresses what I understood fpr54 to mean"). Some other broad feedback MAY also be appropriate ("I really liked the way this part worked") but detailed discussion around specific likes and dislikes should wait until after people have had a chance to understand and digest all of the various proposals and possibly for more appropriate channels of communication (teleconferences or some form of F2F meeting).

3. Dan will be sending around a survey with respect to which dates and/or locations work for the upcoming (virtual/full/TBD) F2F meeting. The original schedule had us deciding on a general direction in March at a F2F, and it looks as if this date will probably slide into April, but details TBD based on the survey responses. Please do respond to the survey even if you aren't planning on attending any form of the F2F (it is better for us to know then be left in limbo).

4. There is no call this week, but we will be scheduling a teleconference to discuss the proposals and F2F details, probably in mid-to-late March, but it will depend both on what discussion occurs on the list on the proposals and on the answers from the F2F logistics survey.

Also, if this set of next steps looks off to you, or if I missed a step or proposal, please do send that to the list as well. Otherwise, happy reading to everyone and again good job.
