Hi everyone,

I'm Alexandre Passant [1], and I'm leading the Social Software Unit in DERI [2].

I'm mostly researching how to bridge the gap between the Social Web and the Semantic Web / Linked Data, in both directions, focusing on a pragmatic approach.

I've been co-author of various data models for representing Social Data such as SIOC [3] or CommonTag [4], and I'm also the founder and main developer of SMOB, a distributed semantic microblogging platform [5]. In addition, I've been involved in the previous Social Web XG and am also active in other W3C spaces (SPARQL, WebID, etc.)

My main interest in this XG is to enable interoperability between social web systems, not only with OStatus but also at an higher level, with a meta-protocol for this integration, that could be serialised / implemented in various ways. In any case, I'm looking forward to the XG discussions.

Alex.
