Fwd: systemic approaches

Greetings good peoples

As you may know, one of my research interests is 'systemic approaches',
below a CFP I am thinking of submnitting to
I met Gerhard at ISSS Hull where I presented a paper, and I thought we
should integrate that approach into EIIF efforts

Please let me know if yourselves, or anyone you may know, could be
interested to collaborate on a paper,

Cheers

PDM

   Dear Colleagues!

Awareness of threats and the occurrence of actual disasters (many
caused by nature but often triggered by human activities) have become
more acute during the last decades, endangering a growing number of
persons and areas in many different ways.
In order to cope with these threats we need a systemic approach to both
the analysis of potential disasters in a all their ramifications and
appropriate reaction strategies for actual disasters.

Following the successful workshops at ISSS 2009, 2010 and 2011 we will
   organize a symposium on
“Systemic Approaches to Regional Disasters”, as part of the
European Meeting on Cybernetics and Systems Research (EMCSR 2012), from
   April 10 – 13, 2012 at the Vienna University.

We invite you submit an EXTENDED ABSTRACT (1 – 3 pages) together with
a quarter page CV (per author) for this Symposium C discussing one
or more aspects of this highly relevant topic.
You find a more elaborate description of the intended Symposium C
   attached and on http://www.emcsr.net/?page_id=180 .
Deadline for the submission is January 14, 2012.

Please note that the extended abstract and CV have to be submitted via
   the conference system accessible via
   http://www.emcsr-conference.org/2012/about/submissions#onlineSubmissions
   .
For further details on EMCSR 2012 and the calls please follow the links
   provided on http://www.emcsr-conference.org/2012/schedConf/cfp .
You have to register with the website before you can submit your
extended abstract. Registration is the first step in the submission
   process.
   Please excuse multiple mailings!
If you have any further questions feel free to contact us
   (gerhard.chroust@jku.at).

   Sincerely
   Gerhard Chroust and Nadine Sturm
