Al, the WSC Working Group's User Interface Guidelines document is currently in Last Call. We have a well-reasoned comment from Sam Hartman about the security impact on users of assistive technologies, concerning the following requirement: The rendering of audio logotypes SHOULD be limited to a short amount of time, and clearly separate from any rendering of other security context information. In particular, user agents MAY shorten audio logotypes for playback. When a user agent will both display visual logotype information as well as emit/play audio logotype information, the user agent MUST ensure that the display/play of these two forms are time-synchronized so that the start times of their display/play coincides visibly and audibly. -- http://www.w3.org/TR/wsc-ui/#sec-logotypes (last paragraph) http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-usable-authentication/2008Aug/0003.html Before making a decision on the disposition of this comment, we'd appreciate your review. Please feel free to copy Sam on your response to this e-mail. Regards, -- Thomas Roessler, W3C <tlr@w3.org>Received on Friday, 22 August 2008 14:16:07 GMT
