AW: [GitHub] Organizing the repository

Hi all

I created the folder https://github.com/w3c/wot/tree/master/proposals and initialized them with the current work items. The idea is to collect experimental work in the proposals folder to clearly separate it from the agreed on working documents. That means that you can fairly freely create your own folders here, manage them, and use them to share your ideas.

A short announcement of a proposal should be send to the mailing list, so we can pick a meaningful name that everyone can associate with the intended work item.

@Victor, Daniel, Taki: please move your files to https://github.com/w3c/wot/tree/master/proposals/type-system

@Soumya, Louay: please put your proposal files under https://github.com/w3c/wot/tree/master/proposals/discovery-api

@Louay, Michael: I will move the wiki page to the README in https://github.com/w3c/wot/tree/master/proposals/explicit-bindings

@Johannes: I will move your temporary item to https://github.com/w3c/wot/tree/master/proposals/subscriptions -- unless this is the basis for our events design pattern, in which case I would call it https://github.com/w3c/wot/tree/master/proposals/events :)

Best regards
Matthias

PS: I will continue with the https://github.com/w3c/wot/tree/master/charters/ folder now…

I agree with that.

This folder should also include the proposal for complex data types and other possible TD extensions (https://github.com/vcharpenay/wot/tree/master/TF-TD/TD%20Extensions).

Regards,
Victor

@All: should we have a folder under current-practices for proposals/discussion bases?

How about a “proposals” folder in the root? Once we have consensus, we can move it to the corresponding well-known folder. So far, concrete bins such as the task forces or Architecture vs Current Practices did not work out well. It always took us a while to see where it fits…

I will need another folder soon for the protocol binding topic, so it would be good to agree on something soon :)

Can we also delete the “plugfest” folder?
It is outdated, and hence confusing.

Can we rename ucr-doc to something less cryptic?
“use-cases-requirements”?
And the README still says “and technology landscape”…
Would need some help for the build script update…

Ciao
Matthias
