RE: [ISO/IEC JTC 1/WG 10 to W3C] Request comments on WD of ISO/IEC 30141

Hello Petr,
we happen to share your proposition - as already mentioned by Dave. I hope the present work results (all items are work-in-progess) already reflect that (to some degree).

As a starting point I'd like to refer you to our snapshot of the security&privacy landscape at http://www.w3.org/WoT/IG/wiki/Landscape_of_Security%26Privacy_Means (as well as its child pages).

Comments are highly wekcome!

Best regards,
Oliver

The WoT IG task force on security, privacy and resilience is working on use cases, requirements and a survey of existing approaches. Oliver can provide more details, but yes, we are interested in access control, not only for access to things,
but also in relation to discovery of things. Identity management and credentials are definitely important.

Hello Dave,

[Just a brief introduction for Everyone: I’m the new Konica Minolta representative for the WoT IG. Although I’m not new to the world of IoT, related technologies and
standardization, I’m new to this group so please excuse me if I ask questions that have been answered.]

I did read the document and identified some aspects that may deserve discussion, but which are probably out of scope of this group (as this is WoT and not IoT, right?)
For example, I feel that the identity management and access control to both physical and virtual objects may be missing or underspecified. Is this the right type of comment, or is the WoT IG limited to Web-based access to thing-related resources?

Petr

Hi Joerg,

A request for comments on an ISO/IEC document. I suggest we look for a volunteer to review the document and bring comments for discussion on the IG mailing list and teleconference.
