rise in site visits last week — why?

I've been looking at the stats for WPD today, and there was a nice rise in
the total number of visits last week.

The total visits have been hovering around 18k (give or take 1k) for the
last six months (except over the holidays), and then last week's total was
21,500.

Anyone know what happened?
