Specificity is so heavily required, in relation to security paradigms. I guess in telco land, the language of a planned outage vs. an unplanned outage - has implications surrounding the service-level agreements provided to customers; security or currency systems (which by the way, i believe should apply to authenticity of digital packages / files - such as a certified electronic notifications (like email), that is as accountable as traditionally delivered (via pony or otherwise) registered mail) Problem is of course, those that make things more obscure can benefit from improved perceptions of trust; therein, statement suggesting something is 'absolutely secure’ or project managers seeking 100% secure - rarely know what they’re saying, from an information / social sciences perspective.  It’s been the case for a long-time, but given the adoption of digital records throughout our lives, it’s becoming more and more important that people generally understand the contextual differences between products. The language of describing risks is perhaps therein, challenging for the scientist who may be up-against a ‘good' marketer.

In this space; the ability for someone to take someone else’s wallet (especially with NFC Enabled Cards); or the ability for someone to obtain access to a persons email account, and reset passwords (provided they have some basic information used for standardised security questions) are some examples of security concerns.  I’ve considered that when a person has a bank-card (with NFC) sent to their mailing address, it’s potentially usable without even opening the envelope.  This type of situation may not be so much of a threat if the only NFC Devices reading those cards, are linked to a retail POS system; but when software based POS become more ubiquitous, for anyone with an appropriate phone for example; gets a little more difficult to track, enforce, subject to an array of other stipulations surrounding identities relating to that software app; information provided to the institution managing the payee’s account, etc. 

With relation to Web-Payments, i think the scope of security surroundings the WWW Conduits - endpoint to endpoint(s).

the traditional ‘problem’ i perceive about business models applied to crypto-currency (like bitcoin) is that in valuing the crypto itself, which is generated through the use of energy.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bi2thGzzNSs&index=3&list=PLzctEq7iZD-7-DgJM604zsndMapn9ff6q provides an array of discussion surrounding the concepts or qualities of bitcoin technology. 

By using that type of technology as a means to generate a promise, rather than an asset or form of virtual currency specifically (meaning, like gold, oil or other forms of mining orientated valued resource) - it may encouraging mining wars, when in fact we just want to ensure a transaction has accountability, can’t be duplicated, exploited, etc.  Therein, the means to assert an IOU (meaning - i have $5 AUD, which i’d like to give to you in a https://flattr.com/ styled format; perhaps as an equivalent value in USD, Bitcoin, Facebook likes, advert or promo on a webpage, sponsorship for your hosting costs, or whatever for favoured currency is) in a means that is secured in a manner similar to going to a bank, showing your ID and obtaining the funds in your account without debate beyond proving you are the person you say you are, who holds that account…  

I think therein; the ‘gold standard’ for ‘digital money’ doesn’t have the same traits as physical resources - like handing someone on the street $5.   I think more likely, you are entitled to anonymity until a court-order demands knowledge for specified purpose.  Therein also, i bind the notions of the rule of law - which to me, includes that all people are equal before the law - and in so considering, that the measures available for accountability also feature an array of functionality that significantly develops the notions of accountability, accessibility and transparency of instance or situational positions, where traditionally a lack of balance was evident between the ability for a sophisticated incorporated legal entity to uphold their rights before the law, and that of natural legal entities, engaging in agreements with incorporated legal entities.

The best example i humbly consider therein; is the notion of a priority date.  If you create a plan, a work that has creative merit (perhaps as considered by the US Constitution’s Copyright Clause - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_Clause ) then the ability to bind parties to the expectations set-out by that clause, may become systemic; and should a dispute arise, the ability to use some of these technologies to prove specified priority dates, with correspondence that was sent not by pony, but digitally - becomes much easier for consideration by a court of law, and therefore changes risk-formula employed by more sophisticated entities.  It is the same quality of a method or system, that provides the promise - in a variety of ways that relate to the law of the people, the rule of law, including (but not exclusive to) funds or currency.
