More that bitcoin styled technology (block-chain, etc.) has many more applications than simply being used as a technology capable of supporting a currency.   Traditionally, the wallet / securing the wallet has been the bigger issue.  The TX rate is also a potential issue, which Melvin seems to have solved with webcredits.
