It's especially useful for the mobile web where cc entry is painful. As a compliment to request autocomplete, the Google Wallet service can create one-time credit card numbers (for US customers only) that proxy your real cc number so that a hacked site couldn't clean out your account. This is even more of a hack but an interesting one. Kumar
