But again, are these not the users' display items (i.e., not the merchant's)? It's not up to the merchant to share them, it's up to the user. If this was in the spec, we would need to add a lot of friction to warn the user that their cat contents is being shared with a third party, and that this can have unfortunate privacy implication (and give the user the choice to not share them). 

If anything, I feel like we should be looking at ways of entirely deprecating `displayItems`. They are taking us down a bad path... sites should provide a proper breakdown of what they are charging people, and the browser/payment handler should only really handle final totals.
