Feedback from Harry Halpin and Ian Jacobs to European Banking Authority Discussion Paper

Dear Web Payments IG,

Today Harry Halpin and I submitted comments in response to the EBA’s discussion paper about strong authentication. Please see:

Please note that Harry and I responded as individuals. The WPIG discussed PSD2 last week [1] and plans to discuss in more
detail at the upcoming FTF meeting [2]. Here’s an update on the summary of ideas [1] from last week:

 * Deeper discussion at WPIG face-to-face meeting.
    Planned.

 * Work to establish a liaison with EBA.
I now have contact information thanks to the IG discussion.

 * Contribute an PISP flow diagram to the WPWG
NO ACTIVITY. We need someone to volunteer to do this.

 * Continued discussion of relevance of blockchain in this space (especially around authentication, clearing and settlement)
We also plan to have a blockchain discussion at the FTF meeting.

 * Possibly respond to the EBA discussion paper.
That was a reference to the blog post that went out today.

I invite IG participants to comment on the blog post and look forward to further discussion in San Francisco.

Thank you,

Ian
