Date: November 22, 2015

To: Members of Web Payments Interest Group

From: Claudia Swendseid, Chair of ISTO/TC 68 SC7 Digital Currency Study Group (and member of WPIG)

Subject: Request to Respond to Survey

The Digital Currency Study Group was formed under ISO TC 68 SC7 to study if there is a need to change the ISO 4217 Currency Code standard to accommodate digital currencies (e.g., Bitcoin, et al).

The Study Group is interested in your perspective on this issue and is requesting your participation in the short survey attached to gauge the demand for currency code standards for digital currencies. Responses to this survey will be used to help assess the need to change ISO 4217 to develop codes to accommodate digital currency. We are also using this opportunity to gather information on the ways that digital currency may impact standards beyond ISO 4217.

Please take a few moments to respond to the eight question survey here. Your response is requested as soon as possible and no later than December 15, 2015.
