Re: web_gen bash script

Very odd that you are having trouble importing into Firefox.
I have just tested it on Firefox on Mac and it worked fine – and it should be same implementation on Ubuntu.

Note that Firefox uses the .p12 certificate format and that does require a password to import and export.

I have copied the script to a proper Github repo:
https://github.com/njh/gen-webid-cert

Please submit any changes or enhancements there.

Hi,

There are a lot of these around. I made this one in 2012! Doesn't time fly?

Thanks Nick. Strangely I was unable to import webid.pem into chromium or firefox (on ubuntu)

On chrome it said the private key was invalid

On firefox it asked for a password (there should be none)

I'll try out the forks and investigate if something has changed

There are quite a few forks of it too:

I wonder if there should be a proper github repo containing 'one bash script to rule them all'?
Then can do Pull Requests for improvements etc…?

A useful little script to generate WebID certificates. Thanks to Tomáš Klapka!
