I have upgraded the WebAuth document so that it also covers WebID-PKI: http://webpki.org/papers/PKI/webauth.pdf The idea is that certificates that are intended for WebID would contain a specific policy OID. This X.509 mechanism have applications outside of WebID, it was designed for expressing usage. Anyway, since only Google have managed creating and getting support for browser extensions for authentication (U2F), this proposal must "by definition" already be dead in the water :-) Anders WebPKI.org
