I strongly agreed on that. Memory based 'quiz' is unrealistic
Just to give a quick clear overview of the issue :

   - HTML5 : 107 elements and more than 143 attributes
   - CSS2.1 : 115 properties (and their values) -> CSS3 is more or less
   doubling that number
   - SVG : 80 elements and 267 attributes
   - Add all the DOM API, all Aria attributes and their values, all RDFa
   attributes, all, all, all...

Even with my 13 years of web development skills, I do not claim to know
half of that, it's just not possible and it's not necessary.
