Introduction

Hello all,

I'm Bill Budington and I'll be representing the Electronic Frontier Foundation at the Web Crypto Working Group. The EFF has been fighting for strong cryptographic standards and encouraging their adoption for two decades. Notably, we are the maintainers of HTTPS Everywhere, a browser extension that transparently defaults connections to HTTPS where available.

I've been involved in advising staff members at the EFF in educating the public about the importance of PFS in TLS connections. I've also contributed to free software projects using web cryptography, such as the Javascript implementation of Off The Record messaging, and more recently SecureDrop, a platform for safely and anonymously submitting documents to journalists.

I'm very excited to be a part of the process, to help create strong recommendations for adoption.

Thank you,
Bill Budington
