As a related note, Firefox has PRs in review to abort webauthn codes when the user switches tabs: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1383799 and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1409202. Edge kind of has an abort mechanism in place as well.
