If you use Outlook or Outlook Express, you can use either Outlook-QuoteFix
[1] or OE-QuoteFix[2]. These plugins fix several of Outlook's problems
with sending properly formatted emails.

<bryan> Sorry, I should have said "Outlook as typically approved by corporate IT departments" which does not include plugins.
