Re: [w3c/webcomponents] HTML, CSS, and JSON modules shouldn't solely rely on MIME type to change parsing behavior (#839)

The argument there that it’s not necessary because it can already be done with other API seems applicable. The bar is pretty high for unique syntax and eval rules. The JSON.parse ‘reviver’ argument is just a mapping function — what’s special about it?
