Testig in contenteditable Chrome, it seems to treat the ligature 'fl' as a single character - so you can only move the caret around it and delete the entire thing. For Latin languages, I think this seems fine as standard browser behavior Advanced JavaScript libraries can come up with more advanced behavior.
