Be sure to be clear in terms you are using

A more complete description of what can be done with XMLHttpRequest  
can be found in the IDL below and its associated details.

What is IDL? say it. "Interface Definition Language"

DOM 3 Core, that you reference, is using OMG IDL. Maybe that would be  
a good choice considering you are referring to Dom Core as well.

     "OMG IDL Syntax and Semantics" defined in The Common Object  
Request Broker: Architecture and Specification, version 2, Object  
Management Group. The latest version of CORBA version 2.0 is  
available at http://www.omg.org/technology/documents/formal/corba_2.htm.
