@palemieux this is _exactly_ what I described [above.](https://github.com/w3c/media-and-entertainment/issues/4#issuecomment-396888706) 

The *sequencer* of the [timingsrc](https://webtiming.github.io/timingsrc/) library does this. It may be used with any data, including HTML or TTML.
