[GGIE] minutes - 3 February 2016 (next call on 24 Feb. 2016)

The minutes from today's GGIE TF call are available at:
  https://www.w3.org/2016/02/03-ggie-minutes.html

also as text below.

Please note that I used "ggie" as the identifier for these minutes
because we had the Cloud Browser TF call 7 hours ago and there
was some conflict with the RRSAgent.

The next GGIE call will be held on Feb. 24th.

Thanks,

Kazuyuki

glenn: created the GitHub repor for GGIE, and wondering if it's
possible to associate the IRC actions with the GitHub repo

kaz: good question. would ask the Systeam about that idea

Meeting times

   glennd: we made this move
   ... late for east coast?

   bill: not too late

glennd: general acceptance from the participants
... will try the call slot for one or two, e.g., during
   February
   ... have a conflict with 17th
... so would hold the next call on 24th
   ... is that ok?

   (no problems)

RESOLUTION: the next call will be held on Feb. 24th

Tools & process

glennd: a lot of other groups uses GitHub for issue tracking
   ... we have a repo: [11]https://github.com/w3c/tv-ggie
   ... deliverables for requirements
... would be better to have documents and issue management on
   GitHub

     [11] https://github.com/w3c/tv-ggie

   (ok with everybody)

RESOLUTION: we will use GitHub for document and issue tracking

glennd: any guidelines to how to use Github vs wiki?

kaz: usually initial discussion tend to happen on the wiki
... and final deliverable document tend to be managed on Github
... we can simply use Github, and transfer the existing
resources from the wiki to the Github repo

glennd: will play with Github then

Use cases

glennd: one of the requirements for GGIE was ID
... there was some identity issue
... one of the challenges is that a lot of groups handle
   identity
... e.g., Github repo requires ID authentication
   ... need exploratory use cases
... posted the URL of the GGIE repo

... what unique requirements for GG work?

... parental control kind of access permission
   ... privacy of children
... nobody can identify who they're

bill: would like to create and manage pseudonyms easily
   ... user's preference, etc.
... create, use it and delete it quickly
   ... control personal identifiable information
   ... IP, MAC address, etc.
   ... Use Case 3

bill: create a new link to the public domain
   ... completely sever all links
   ... Use Case 7

   ->
   [19]https://www.w3.org/2011/webtv/wiki/GGIE_TF/UseCases/Identit

     [19]
https://www.w3.org/2011/webtv/wiki/GGIE_TF/UseCases/Identity#Identity_Use_Case_7:_Severing_Links_to_a_Compromised_Identity

   bill: paypal like services
... ExampleCo is hacked and his ID is stolen
   ... severed from that
... would abandon the ID completely
... basic concept is creating an ID and linking the ID with the
   other IDs

   glennd: any comments?
... part of the idea is
... what does it mean "identity"
... you could create a small purpose-driven identity
   ... for some limited purpose

bill: security number and driver license number, etc., are real
   identification
... a lot of different levels of identifications
... identify whether suitable person or not
... for financial transaction, we can use true id
... need reasonable way for each purpose

   glennd: like bitcoin
   ... have multiple wallets
... each person maintains private key for the wallets
... and third content to choose a wallet
... would work with identity people
... would have comments around use cases

bill: I'm shopping on Amazon site
   ... they don't know who I am
... they send my credential to me
   ... e.g., 2795 appears as my id
... but the only site who knows who I am is Paypal

glennd: good use case on access token
... let's use that use case as well
... let's say watching video on Amazon
   ... may use Gmail account
... and Google knows about the identity
... email comes from Amazon to Google includes identification
   information

bill: the information should be encrypted?

glennd: the access identifier maps to the content I watch
... two balls, my identity and their content identity
... two ways to do that
... your side or our side
   ... will think about that
... would take these use cases
... and put them into GitHub
... and create issues on the issue tracker
... people need to send the GitHub credential to Kaz to get
   write access

bill: actions for new use cases?

glennd: 1. private link in email
   ... your emails are encrypted
   ... any comments or questions?

yosuke: potential destination/result of this work?
... do you have any image?

glennd: there is identity work within other groups
... but not doing requirements work
... W3C also has identity work
... we've been working on identity
... for the TV everwhere, there are issues on identity
... watch whole bunch of contents via cable
   ... built upon IETF standards
... would work for next generation use cases

kaz: so after generating the new use cases, we'll share our
ideas with the other W3C groups and the other SDOs

   glennd: right

Next call

glennd: next call will be Feb. 24
   ... take care!

   [ adjourned ]
