The aim of the task force is outlined in our charter

In short, we want to identify usecases and requirements for devices,  
content and services discovery and control in the home network and make a  
gap analysis of the existing technology.
Note that this group is not going to write specification, but only a  
requirement document (that's the reason why we have such a short deadline).

Of course this is not the case. The questions we are asking ourselves are:  
what are the most common home networking usecases that people would like  
to cover? What is missing in the current Open Standards (HTML5 etc) to be  
able to cover those use cases? If the reality is like you say, i.e. there  
are already well supported, open and widely deployed standards to cover  
all our usecases than the conclusion of this TF will be that there is  
nothing to be done. My impression from the discussion during Berlin WS is  
that this wasn't the case, but is the aim of this TF to answer these  
questions.
