Web and TV IG comment

I am intrigued by the news of the proposed Web and TV Interest Group<http://www.w3.org/News/2010.html#entry-8910>. In particular, I am heartened to see the WAI Technical Activity identified<http://www.w3.org/2010/09/webTVIGcharter.html#coordination> in the draft charter<http://www.w3.org/2010/09/webTVIGcharter.html> as an important group for liaison, and to see accessibility listed as one of the top categories identified in the first workshop<http://www.w3.org/2010/09/web-on-tv/summary.html>, as this strikes me as a key area in which such a group could have great positive impact. For example, video is increasingly produced for both TV broadcast and web delivery, which have very different mechanisms for including captions and audio description. Development of methods, standards, equipment specifications, etc., that would enable and facilitate streamlined, single-source production of captioning and audio description for both Web and TV deployment would be tremendously beneficial.
