This is great, Loretta, thank you!

I think it would be better to delete Example 2 (overlapping characters),
since this could actually interfere with the ability to perceive words.
In some languages there are characters that are supposed to run together
(like the "ae" that is the feminine plural for the Latin "alumnae." I
think there are character entities for these, however, so they should be
used instead...
