Summary of HTML Techniques for GL 3.1

Attached is a table with information about the HTML techniques associated
with GL 3.1. Based on information in the table I have proposed several
action items below. Please see the table version for more details and
links to appropriate content.

Proposed Action Items:

Generic Guideline 3.1
-Change mapping of HTML Techniques 7.2 and 8.3 from GL 3.1 to GL 1.3 L1
SC1.

GL 3.1 L1 SC1
-Update HTML Technique 4.1 with XHTML example and info about HTTP headers
and language (I think Yvette took this as an action item)
-Update resource section of HTML Technique 4.1 to add link to Language
tags in HTML and XML .
-Need an HTML technique about text direction (Lisa and Wendy to propose)
-Update tests 48 and 49 to include XHTML pass/fail examples OR make
separate XHTML versions of the tests.

GL 3.1 L2 SC2
-Per editorial note in HTML Technique 4.2, need to add a definition of
"Grade 2 braille contractions" to glossary.
-Update resource link in HTML Technique 4.2 to Language tags in HTML and
XML - the current link is old.
-Need tests for HTML Technique 4.2 (Lisa and Wendy to create tests)

GL 3.1 L3 SC1
-Remove mapping of HTML Technique 5.10 from this SC.
-Add a code example to HTML Technique 1.4 (Becky to propose)
-Technique 1.4 needs information about what words should be included in a
glossary or there should be a general technique about this.
-Open concern about requiring definition of ALL words.
-Create a test for HTML Technique 1.4.

GL 3.1 L3 SC 2
-Link HTML Technique 1.4 to this SC as well as L1 SC1.
-Create a code example for HTML Technique 5.10. (Becky)
-Create a test case for HTML Technique 5.10 (Becky)

GL 3.1 L3 SC3
-need to resolve Issue 295. There is discussion about using only <abbr>
and not acronym and also when expansion must be provided. (Becky to review
discussions and post proposal to Team B)
-update HTML Techniques 5.2 and 5.3 based on outcome of issue 295.
-create tests for HTML Techniques 5.2 and 5.3

GL 3.1 L3 SC4
-Update tests 31, 32, 201, and 202 to NOT refer to this SC but rather to
GL 2.4 L2 SC4

GL 3.1 L3 SC5
-no HTML technique related action items.
