RE: RE: WCAG-EM testing proposal

Hi all
I'm checking out a couple of options here also. We might also like to approach the Paralympic Games website owners:
http://london2012.paralympic.org.au/

I know this one was extensively tested including user testing (as you'd expect), so it would be interesting to test in one of the categories for us.

An option for testing may be

www.land-der-ideen.de/

a website for promoting Germany as the hot place to be. Personally, I dislike national marketing campaigns but the site has made an effort to be accessible and has some pretty invilvesd stuff going on with a google map

http://www.land-der-ideen.de/365-orte/preistraeger/map

and overlays on top of it, and a myriald of filtering options (so this is a good on to see if one would let this pass in terms of 3.2.3 Consistent Navigation, 2.4.1 Bypass Blocks and so on....

Acrually going through the success criteria in step 4 will just reveal the differences we will have in assessing content, letting minor issues pass (or not) as the case nay be, guided (or not) by the application of WCAG techniques. There is nothing in the methodology that would recommend any rating approach over any other.

>> Hi Eric
>>
>> This is looking good, but certainly seems like a lot of work for individual volunteers who would all be assessing the same pages. While it will give a great data set, to evaluate a website usually takes considerable time and this would also depend upon the sample size. Would it be better to split up the sample after it is chosen in step 3 and all evaluate a portion?
