Dear all,

In our last telco we discussed using WCAG-EM on a live website. I promised to provide a proposal to do this in the form of a survey or mail. Please find the proposal below. You are welcome to like it or propose changes. We will also discuss this in our telco but reactions on the list beforehand would be very welcome.

Proposal EvalTF evaluation using WCAG-EM

The members of the Eval Taskforce will check a website using the current WCAG-EM version. This is a good test to evaluate our progress and identify possible problems that need to be solved. The testround is limited to members of EvalTF members first (including WCAG, EOWG and ERT members if they volunteer). We will consider asking more people outside of the current group at a later stage.

As it is a lot of work to make a special website for our purpose, we will ask around for volunteer websites. If you have a proposal for one or more websites, please discuss first off the list with Shadi and Eric.

We will look at different websites:
1. Small (traditional) website
2. Website with as much features as possible
3. Web application

We looking for:
1. How are we following the same guidance
2. What are the challenge areas in the guidance
3. Please add

Approach

Round 1

1. We make groups of 3 -4 people
2. For one website, they all go separately through steps 1 to 3 (sample) and then compare results, how they followed the guidance and the challenges they met and possible solutions to improve WCAG-EM.
3. The group then agrees on the sample to be used by all groupmembers. Then separately go through steps 4 and 5. Compare results, challenges, solutions and improvements.
4. Discussion in Telco with feedback from all groups

Round 2 and 3

1. We make new groups of 3 -4 people (new input and views)
2. For next website, they all go separately through steps 1 to 5 and then compare results, how they followed the guidance and the challenges they met and possible solutions to improve WCAG-EM.
3. Discussion in Telco with feedback from all groups

This way, everybody will have used WCAG-EM separately on three different websites in different teams. If every group uses a different website for round 1 we will be able to compare the outcome of WCAG-EM using one identical sample and possibly different samples.

Kindest regards,

Eric
