EO Lexicon Task Force Meeting Notes 11th January 2005 Present: Henk, Sylvie, Pasquale, Harvey, Carol, Andrew Current docuemnt: LexiconOverview9.xls Topic 1 - ATAG entries Discussion - "e.g." vs. "for example" decided that "for example" should be used Discussion - use of mark-up language Thus need to be inlcuded in the glossary? previously some people suggested this as a term that should be inlcuded ATAG 2.0 has this in its glossary: "Markup Language - A markup language is a syntax and/or set of rules used to manage markup (e.g. HTML [HTML4], SVG [SVG], or MathML [MATHML])." HB: a markup language is a syntax and/or set of rules used to manage content and structure? Carol: a syntax and/or set of rules used to manage content and structure? Include examples Andrew: ... for documents and objects? Henk has final wording Henk wants to present ATAG glossary suggestions to EOWG this Friday All agreed on definition currently gives 13 entries from ATAG 2.0 Topic 2 - H-O entries Discussion about H-O selection accepted 16 words from this group Topic 3 - P-Z entries Discussion about P-Z selection currently 16 entries have been chosen at least 3 times - but will leave this open a little longer discusison about "text equivalent" - seems important to include even if not voted in "Photosensitive Epilepsy, Photoepilepsy" gets a "?" as we don't inlcude other disabilities, but Harvey agues it is a critical condition "PDA" should this be in? - Probably not - tag with a "?" "placeholder" - checkpoint 10.4 WCAG 1.0 - deprecated, but not officially - flag with a "?" "query-by-example" - decided to delete at this stage Next steps: - work through the list from A-Z and check - Henk will update from today - 5-6 words per week and work on descriptions - all selected words will be in the 'total lex' tab in alpahabetical order Next meeting - ??
