Re: BAD preview for accessibility testing

Hi Shadi,

please find attached an xls file which contains errors based on the assessment of the following web sites:

1) http://www.w3.org/WAI/demos/bad/draft/2009/after/home/
 2)http://www.w3.org/WAI/demos/bad/draft/2009/after/news/
3)http://www.w3.org/WAI/demos/bad/draft/2009/after/tickets/
4)http://www.w3.org/WAI/demos/bad/draft/2009/after/survey/
5)http://www.w3.org/WAI/demos/bad/draft/2009/after/template/

Please keep in mind that the Web assessment has been done with the usage of our ACCESSIBLE Web assemsnet tool which is under development and supports WCAG 1.0 and 2.0. Because the user interface of the tool isn;t ready and we are still working in order to make it usable for end users please find attached 5 txt files (extracted from the NETBEANS) that can be used in order to find out the extracted accessbility errors. As an example:

within the page http://www.w3.org/WAI/demos/bad/draft/2009/after/home/ there are 2 images without alt text. By opening the home.txt file and searching for <A href ....you can see the following images that they don;t have alt text:

<IMG alt="" src="../../img/after/teaser_right1.jpg">
<IMG alt="" src="../../img/after/teaser_right2.jpg">

This is the procedure that must be followed in order to find out the accessbility errors. Please keep in mind that we have also included some semi-automatic tests where user should also check the content of the web site

I hope that the attached files can be sufficient to you. In any case please let me know

i will remain at your diposal

regards,

Kostas (Votis is my surname :) )

  Dear Votis,

  Thank you for your effort. Unfortunately we are not able to process the
  data provided by you for the following reasons:

  #1. we can not distinguish between warnings and real error messages
  #2. we can not locate the precise occurrence of the issue (URI and line
  number or other types of pointers would be helpful to locate the issue)

  We would appreciate if you could provide an updated report, ideally one
  that only has confirmed accessibility errors.

  Best,
     Shadi
