As you said yourself to Jeff previously [1]: if people feel insulted, this means this is insulting “by definition” (you used that tautology for disrepect, not insults, but it’s the same isn’t it?)
If this is true for you, this is true for others. You can’t have double standards on such reactions (pun intended)

It is unfortunate that you are obviously unwilling to see there are others situations which are different from the ones that serve your demonstration, with other people who are not necessarily stupid or short-sighted. The case has been extensively made by David and Daniel, I won’t try to rephrase them.
