Weekly digest of W3C news and trends: Encrypted Media Extensions, W3C Website Survey, Do Not Track, HTML5 Epic Citadel, etc.

This is the 3-17 May 2013 edition of a “weekly digest of W3C news and  
trends" that the W3C Communications Team prepares for the W3C Membership  
and public-w3c-digest mailing list (publicly archived [1]) [sent  
separately]. This digest aggregates information about W3C from online  
media, a snapshot of how W3C and its work is perceived in online media.

Notably in the past two weeks :

- over 1800 stories about W3C on Twitter in the past 2 weeks.
- over 6300 mentions of W3C in past two weeks.
- With 61671 Twitter followers, net increase of 1243 followers in the past  
two weeks (week 19: 700+, week 20: 500+).
- 13 posts that dlvr.it posted between Apr 28 - May 05 got 26.3K (+15%)  
clicks and reached 62.3K connections.
- 10 posts that dlvr.it posted between May 05 - May 12 got 24.4K (+13%)  
clicks and reached 70.9K connections.
- Peak of mentions on 9-May (1456 mentions) for top story on CNET’s  
article “W3C proceeds with Web video encryption despite opposition” [1].
