The reasons I had for using a higher level language as the master, and
generating the RDFa were less to do with OWL and more to do with making it
easier to prevent some of the bugs that creep in with a 250K file and a
flat namespace.

The semantics of schema.org is not heavily documented, but I have been told
that range/domain includes axioms for a property, for a given version of
the schema, are combined to create anonymous union types. This is how
things appear on the vocabulary pages. (rdfs:comments on duplicated
properties did not get merged).

Consuming schema.org data often requires special magic  anyway.
