Call for Consensus to request transition of TTML2 to CR2

All,

As agreed in Thursday's call<https://www.w3.org/2018/06/07-tt-minutes.html#resolution03>, we have now merged the remaining pull requests early (plus a small number of newly opened ones) into the ED of TTML2 so that we can review them and the document as a whole together with a view to requesting transition to CR2. This means that the normal review period for pull requests is being run simultaneously with this call for consensus to request transition.

The list of pull requests that were merged early can be viewed at https://github.com/w3c/ttml2/pulls?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=is%3Apr+is%3Aclosed+label%3A%22pr+merged+early%22

Specifically the following substantive pull requests were merged early since our meeting last Thursday:

Revert deprecation of 'seq' time container in smpte discontinuous mod…<https://github.com/w3c/ttml2/pull/813>
Further refinement of features (#814)<https://github.com/w3c/ttml2/pull/815>
Remove digits keyword from tts:textCombine (#817).<https://github.com/w3c/ttml2/pull/818>

And the following editorial pull requests were merged early:

Fix typo in rubyReserve.<https://github.com/w3c/ttml2/pull/828>
Add informative text clarifying line height and line stacking semantic…<https://github.com/w3c/ttml2/pull/825>
Switch to CR entities, update dates in status.<https://github.com/w3c/ttml2/pull/829>

Please review the ED at https://w3c.github.io/ttml2/index.html with a view to agreeing with the proposal to request transition to CR2.

This email is the call for consensus that begins the countdown timer on our decision policy: if no objection to requesting transition is received by end of Tuesday 26th June then the Resolution is passed and I will request the transition to CR2.

So far I have received no proposal or request to add or remove any features from the at risk list in the SOTD, but we can add more features to that list before requesting transition, if we are quick.

I have a long-standing editorial action to update appendix M, Requirements, and plan to issue an editorial pull request soon (though if need be that can be done at PR stage).

Kind regards,

Nigel
