The video accessibility group at Mozilla has published a report on their efforts at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Accessibility/Video_a11y_Study08.  And Stanford University has launched a Web site describing their captioning services, including a page which converts SRT files to DFXP:  http://captioning.stanford.edu/convert.php.
